An Affordable Home Repair Program

With the everyday expenses of raising a family, it can be difficult to keep up with needed home repairs and improvements that risk the safety of the family, the value of the property and the stability of the home.

Our Home Repair program offers qualified homeowners a 0% interest materials loan repaid to Chippewa Valley Habitat on terms that work for the homeowner. Our Home Repair Committee comes together with local subcontractors and volunteers, working alongside homeowners in addressing many repair needs.

Examples of critical repairs this program addresses:

  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • Windows and door replacement
  • Furnace and water heater replacement
  • Accessibility Installation, including but not limited to:
    • Ramp installation
    • Bathroom grab bars

Services are available to qualified homeowners in Eau Claire, Chippewa, Dunn, and Buffalo counties. Priority is given to critical interior and exterior repairs that pose a safety risk or code violation pertaining to the health, safety and well-being of the people living in the home.

Applications for home repair services are evaluated on three main criteria: need for home repairs, ability to pay for home repairs and a willingness to partner with the organization providing the repair services. More information on each of these criteria will be provided at the time of application.

In order to qualify for our Home Repair program, you must be the current homeowner and be able to provide proof of homeowner’s insurance. Please note that this program is no longer able to provide services to mobile homes or roofing. If you are in need of critical repairs on your mobile home, you may qualify for our Partner Family Program.
