Purpose:
To execute fundraising plan and help build a diversified funding base with an emphasis on expanding sponsorships and gift opportunities with corporate, faith, and community groups.
Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for the design and successful execution of fundraising campaigns and programs that will develop a vibrant donor pipeline to strategically grow our charitable investments from all donors with a specific focus on corporations, faith groups, and institutions.
- Ensure that the fundraising strategy utilized is consistent with Habitat’s mission
- Makes decisions from a fundraising perspective related to portfolio of donors on behalf of the organization.
- Develop and execute donor focused events as determined by overall fundraising strategy. Promote, and invite groups, individuals, and those in your personal and professional circles to donor recruitment, engagement and recognition events.
- Coordinate with our marketing and public relations staff on the creation of communication materials to build awareness, solicit support, and report back on program outcomes to corporate, sponsor, and faith groups.
- Develop and foster good relations with all donors, sponsors, and prospects through cultivation, stewardship, and appreciation activities.
- Assist in providing a well-coordinated build experience for corporate sponsors and volunteers. Be visible and present at build sites for donors, faith groups, and corporate sponsors as appropriate.
- Utilize donor database (Salesforce) and maintain donor and prospects information, and records activities
- Work with the Development staff in the formulation of an annual development program budget and monitor budget progress throughout the year.
- Ensure that the annual fundraising budget is met by effectively managing a portfolio of 100-200 donors and prospects, and actively soliciting Home Buyer, Home Repair, and Rock the Block sponsorships as well as unrestricted annual support. Bring creative ideas for partnership forward.
- Develop strong, positive, and lasting relationships with staff, volunteers, and donors throughout the organization.
- Act as a passionate and informed advocate for Habitat and serve as one of the key spokespersons for the organization.
- Have a thorough knowledge of the history, programs and major milestones of Habitat and the key leadership, volunteers and donors who have contributed to its success.
- Actively promote Habitat and secure opportunities for Habitat representatives to attend, speak at, or serve on community panels with the intent to better position the organization for improved fundraising or visibility.
Required skills and experience:
- Proven track record of fundraising or related sales experience, preferably in the Chippewa Valley area.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, which must be clear, effective, and courteous.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, establish priorities and attend to all details in a timely and professional manner.
- Demonstrated analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving experience.
- Strong networking skills, including attending events, hosting events, and participating in civic groups and activities which will better position the organization for success.
- Strong presentation skills, public speaking ability, and comfort presenting to large/organized groups.
- Demonstration of high integrity is critical for working with a broad array of backgrounds and dealing with confidential information is required.
- Ability to make sound judgments, assume responsibility, work independently, and work as a team member in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage financial resources
- Thorough working knowledge of Word, Outlook and Excel and databases that support donor management and proposal development.
- An understanding of marketing and promotions practices is beneficial to this position.
